Around the Ronacherhof – Location, Surroundings & Excursions
Being located centrally in sunny Taisten makes the Ronacherhof the perfect place for combining relaxation and outdoor adventure.
In the warmer months, both gentle and challenging hikes lead to alpine pastures in Taisten and the Gsies Valley.
The stunning Plätzwiese Plateau and the famous Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) can be reached in a short drive.
Those who want to go higher can hike around the Three Peaks (3 Zinnen / Tre Cime di Lavaredo) or try a climbing route in the Dolomites.
Nearby cable cars at Kronplatz and in the 3 Zinnen Dolomites take you comfortably up to the summits. Cyclists and mountain bikers will also find plenty of routes — from relaxed valley rides to challenging mountain trails.
Winter Magic in Taisten
When snow is covering the landscape, the fun begins right at your doorstep: Just 100 meters from the farm, the village ski lift with its own ski school is a popular meeting point for young and old. The large ski areas Kronplatz and 3 Zinnen Dolomites can easily be reached by car or public transport — about 10 km to Olang (Kronplatz) and 18 km to Vierschach (3 Zinnen Dolomites). The bus stop is only 50 m from the farm.
Snow-covered alpine meadows invite you to go winter hiking, sledding, snowshoeing, or ski touring. On the 42 km “Sunny Trail” cross-country track in the Gsies Valley, you can glide past idyllic farms and cozy alpine huts — the nearest access point is just 500 m from our house.
After an active day in the winter mountains, you can store your gear in our ski depot with boot dryer — so your boots are warm and ready for the next adventure.
Culture & Sights
Our region also has plenty to offer culturally: the Romanesque-Gothic Church of St. George is the landmark of the sunny village of Taisten. In the neighboring village of Welsberg, you will encounter traces of the famous Baroque painter Paul Troger, and the medieval Welsperg Castle invites visitors during the summer months to guided tours, concerts, and art exhibitions.
