Where our farms are located

Panoramic region of the Gsieser Valley - Welsberg - Taisten

While well-known attractions such as Pragser Wildsee (Lago di Braies), the Plätzwiese plateau and the 3 Zinnen (Three Peaks/Tre Cime) draw visitors, our Dolomites panorama region Gsieser Tal – Welsberg – Taisten offers a refuge of calm and authenticity.

Surrounded by the Villgraten Mountains, the foothills of the Rieserferner Group and the Dolomites, the Gsieser Tal is a hidden gem for those seeking relaxation, nature lovers and active holidaymakers. Broad alpine meadows, dense forests and traditional mountain farms shape an unspoilt cultural landscape and invite our guests to savour South Tyrolean hospitality and the silence of the mountains to the full.

Taisten rightly bears the name Sonnendorf (sunny village): set on a sunny high plateau 2 km from Welsberg at the entrance to the Gsieser Tal, it offers wide Dolomite panoramas, many hours of sunshine throughout the year and an extensive network of walks and hiking trails.

Ideal location for excursions

Our ideal location makes excursions in every direction possible, while at the same time providing a retreat where you can leave everyday life behind.

In the warmer months, numerous walking paths, alpine and summit tours, mountain-bike and e-bike routes as well as leisurely paths through meadows and forests await you.

In winter, you will find well prepared cross-country tracks, winter walking trails and small village ski lifts. Toboggan runs, snowshoe hikes and ski-touring are also options in our holiday region.

Whether you come as a family, couple, active sports enthusiast, gourmet or simply for peace and quiet — everyone will find the right holiday location with us. Our holiday apartments offer space and comfort, while the mountain inn “Mudler” is a meeting place for regional specialities and conviviality.
